James Gunn’s PG-Porn

“PG-Porn” is a new web series dreamed up by James Gunn of Troma and Slitherfame. Together with his brothers and operating on a modest budget, James Gunn successfully recruited real-life porn stars and well-known actors to act out typical intro scenes often seen in porno films, but without the inevitable transition into sex. In fact, there are no sex acts at all – instead there is often an absurd or abrupt ending to the innuendo. The end result is quite hilarious, and a welcome approach from one of the more inventive minds currently operating in new media.

There are several episodes already done, featuring some well known actors like Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog), Craig Robinson (Zack and Miri Make a Porno), and Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville). As for porn stars, you get some well known names including Jenna Haze, Belladonna, and Sasha Grey (The Girlfriend Experience). Italian Spiderman by Alrugo

“Italian Spiderman” is a hilarious series of ten shorts that portray an overweight, smoking, womanizing, and ruthless super hero that is about as far from Spiderman’s noble efforts as you can get. The pitch is the fictitious series, supposedly filmed in 1968 but never released, is an uncovered relic from some long lost Italian film vault.

“Italian Spiderman” echoes the often unintentionally hilarious foreign rip-offs of popular franchises such as Star Wars, Superman, and Rambo that were popular in the late 70’s and 80’s. The direct influence is most likely Japanese Spiderman, which is arguably just as ridiculous.

It features deliberately low production value, 100% dubbed audio (as this was the characteristic of most Italian films of that era), non-actors, and often cheap props and gags. It works wonderfully well.
