YouTube Symphony Orchestra Sending 96 Musicians to Carnegie Hall

The YouTube Symphony Ochestra Program has selected their 96 musicians to send to Carnegie Hall. The group of world-wide musicians were chosen to take part in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra summit, and play at Carnegie Hall under maestro Michael Tilson Thomas. Check it out:

Winners [...] will be invited to travel to New York in April 2009, to participate in the YouTube Symphony Orchestra summit, and play at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.

All the Tan Dun submissions will be compiled into a mashup video which will be premiered on this channel on April 15th.

Pretty interesting initiative by YouTube, with a recent nod by CNN and a video covering the event. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
